From an early age I have had a love for animals. Sometime ago I came across Elpida shelters facebook page and since then I have followed the shelters progress and just recently I have become part of the Elpida shelter team. I say team but really it is more of a family. The ladies that run the rescue really go above and beyond helping to bring these animals to a better life and I was privileged to be asked to become part of it.
Sat at my computer about one month ago I was reading different stories of dogs/puppies in need. I couldn’t take it anymore and called to my partner down stairs telling him I can’t wait any longer. I need to save one of these pups now! He said yes, as long as I was certain. And I was, I knew just the puppy for me and my family
Fast forward a week and I found myself driving through the Norfolk countryside to meet ‘Molly’. I had seen her on Elpida Facebook page as Molly was part of a whole litter that has been rescued by a wonderful lady called S. and her team of friends that help her. The puppies had successfully been bought here to the UK to F.A.I.T.H rescue shelter. I had been following the progress of these puppies for some time now.
When I arrived at the F.A.I.T.H shelter one of the staff took me through to meet Molly and her siblings which have come to be known as the Rat Pack.
There was something about Molly, just from seeing pictures of her I found myself being drawn to her. The gate was opened and I walked through – only to be greeted by Molly first, that was it I was hooked, I had to have Molly.
It was sad leaving Molly at the rescue but once I arrived home and started telling my partner about Molly he could see how smitten I was with her, and that was it she was booked to be picked up the following weekend.
The week leading up to bringing Molly to her ‘forever home’ seemed to go so slow for me. I could not wait until the Sunday to pick her up so I decided to collect her on the Saturday.
After picking Molly up and bringing her home she walked around, a bit nervous, but her puppy curiosity shone through and she had soon explored the entire house and was beginning to make herself at home. I am also pleased to say that although she is only 4 ½ months old, she said hello to Stan, our other dog (a Border Collie who is 4.5 years old) and they were soon playing together in the garden. Molly also gets on well with our two cats a rabbit and our two year old daughter. Today was the day Molly became a part of our family
A week later and it feels like Molly has always been with us. She sleeps in our bedroom under the bed with Stan or sometimes on my pillow with me, she loves running around the garden and going for long walks and I think there might be a doggy romance brewing as we often find Molly and Stan cuddled up on the sofa together cleaning each other.
We are so happy to have her as part of our family and would like to thank everyone at Elpida shelter and F.A.I.T.H rescue for helping make this possible.  And especially S. and the team that helped bring the Rat Pack to the UK.
